Director of Acquisitions

  • Source industrial investment opportunities (existing assets, land development and repositioning assets) consistent with the firm’s evolving investment strategy. Target markets are Southern California, Atlanta and Savannah, GA.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with the brokerage community, developers, owners of real estate, and other industry participants. Build on and supplement Thrifty’s existing network of relationships.
  • Study and conduct research on target markets to fully understand the local submarket dynamics and trends; stay abreast of industry trends.
  • In collaboration with senior management, periodically reassess and update acquisition and target market strategies.
  • Manage due diligence and closing processes, including selection, contract negotiation and oversight of third-party service providers (i.e., property condition and engineering, environmental, land use, title/survey, legal, etc.).
  • Undertake and/or manage the necessary financial underwriting of investments; develop executive summaries and business plans for prospective investments, which will be presented to the Company’s executive team for approval.
  • Work closely with the project management and development teams as needed on relevant development/construction projects.
  • Upon successful completion of an acquisition or development, prepare the closing binder, assemble and organize comprehensive project hand-off materials for smooth transition to Property Management.
  • Represent the Company with local, regional and national real estate organizations.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial investment and/or development
  • Experience with sourcing, underwriting and acquiring existing income, value-add and land development properties
  • Advanced financial modelling, including MS Excel and Argus
  • Knowledge of the Southern California and Southeastern U.S. market dynamics
  • Knowledge of building design, development and project management processes and procedures preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple, complex property acquisitions simultaneously
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking, judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed sense of responsibility and initiative, as well as a collaborative attitude
  • Travel to Southeastern markets, particularly greater Atlanta and Savannah, GA, and participation at some evening events required 


The Director will be provided with a compensation package that includes a competitive base salary and an annual bonus.
