Job Summary: 

Invesco provides a unique opportunity to experience the day-to-day functions of the investment management business. Candidates are expected to directly contribute to the investment process, generate proprietary research, observe investment committee meetings, and participate in active investment decision making.

A successful candidate will gain an understanding of Invesco’s specific investment process and contribute thoughtful research product as directed. Candidates should expect direct interaction and mentorship from the experienced Analysts and Portfolio Managers.

Listed Real Assets Interns will be expected to manage multiple research projects simultaneously. Typical projects may include new investment idea generation, detailed data analysis, communication with research partners, securities analysis, fundamental research, and investment recommendations to the team. In addition, candidates may be asked to present to the investment team on a stock or industry that they have researched.

This program is an introduction to the Associate Analyst role at Invesco and the primary recruiting method for full-time hires. Full time offers are rare, and reserved for exceptional candidates, but many of our current Portfolio Managers began their careers in a similar program before progressing to their current roles.

Key Responsibilities / Duties: 

  • Aggressively research and utilize financial market databases, software, and other resources
  • Source, organize, and analyze data in a way that is easily consumable by teammates
  • Research business trends, company developments and market opportunities
  • Deliver work product consistent with the Invesco investment process
  • Perform fundamental research on portfolio holdings
  • Attend investment committee meetings
  • Efficiently communicate analysis and conclusions with the investment team

Work Experience / Knowledge: 

  • A minimum of two years of work experience in research or analysis is preferred.

Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required: 

  • Must possess keen analytical skills with ability to apply accounting, financial, and investment principles in the analysis of companies and industries.
  • Must be able to gather and interpret market data.
  • Must also have the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment, and work with little supervision.
  • Must be able to cooperate in a team environment and work with a variety of individuals.

Formal Education: 

  • First year MBA candidate with a passion for investing
  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience Business/Finance/Data Analysis or a related field preferred
  • CFA designation, or progress toward it, is highly valued
